At the June 4 St. Clair Board of Aldermen meeting, it was recommended that a hearing take place for a business that is not compliance with its conditional use permit.
City Code Official Jeremy Crowe said Poor Boyz Recycling is not in compliance with a stipulation in its conditional use permit banning outside storage on the west lot of the business.
In 2013, a conditional use permit was approved by the board. The permit allows land owners, Jerry and Virginia Landing, to operate an outdoor scrap metal and recycling center on property located in the Pipkin subdivision. The address is 685 West Gravois Ave.
The permit states that business materials are not allowed to be stored on the west lot of the primary business, according to Crowe.
“They have been storing such materials within this lot (which is) in violation of their conditional use permit, as well as other clear violations of the permit issued,” Crowe said to The Missourian.
He added that the owners did not get a business license for this year “partially due to tax issues.” He and the city attorney “have tried to work with them to resolve their violations, but to no avail, as they continue to violate the conditions imposed,” he said.
During the board meeting, Crowe said he would like the city attorney to send a notice to the business regarding the hearing. It is scheduled for Monday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
