On Monday, Jan. 1, a water main break was reported on Chouteau Street.

Due to the extreme cold temperatures and the size of the break, an immediate repair was necessary, according to a statement from City Administrator Travis Dierker.

Crews worked through the late morning and afternoon to make the repair. The repair was completed around 5 p.m. The city of St. Clair Public Works Department had notified residents near Orchard Drive, McDonald’s, and Highway TT that water services may be disrupted due to a water main break.

Water was shut off from noon-2 p.m. and again from 3-5 p.m. to make the repairs.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” Dierker said.
