Thirty individuals, 10 businesses and three groups have been nominated for at least one of the several awards that will be handed out on Saturday night during the 43rd annual Celebrate St. Clair Banquet.

Tickets remain available for the event at various locations around the city. The cost is $25 and includes a steak and chicken dinner. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. at the St. Clair Elks Lodge with dinner to follow at 6 p.m.

The awards conclude the evening’s festivities.

People do not know what award they have been nominated for, and the winners are not announced until the banquet.

The individual awards are citizen of the year, outstanding public service, volunteer of the year, youth mentor of the year, educator of the year, spiritual leader of the year and outstanding youth. A business of the year also will be awarded.

The St. Clair Police Department and fire and ambulance districts also will announce their employees of the year. Those people are not included in the nomination list.

Jason Alexander of Budget Lodging will be the emcee. Entertainment will be provided by Betty Crawford of Hermann, who sings and plays the guitar. Jim’s Catering will provide the food.

A silent auction will be part of the evening. Door prizes will be given to attendees.

The theme for the night is “Rich History, Bright Future.” Items that survived February’s St. Clair Historical Museum fire will be on display.

The main purpose of the banquet is to recognize the area individuals for their service to the community during the past year.

Tickets are available at the Chamber and license office, Farmers & Merchants Bank, US Bank, St. Clair Health Mart Pharmacy, Sinks Pharmacy, The Medicine Shoppe and The St. Clair Missourian.

For more information, contact the Chamber at 636-629-6000, extension 3.
