Baseball and softball education for ages 4-6 will be held this month at St. Clair Elementary gym.
There will be 25 players divided into four teams that will meet weekly on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-7:15 p.m.
Dates for the practices are June 7, 12, 13, 19 and 21 with the closing ceremony on June 23. Each team plays a 30-minute game and works on two skills each night.
Utilizing smaller team sizes each player receives more individual attention, as well as more repetitions. This is designed to keep the player’s attention longer as they are always active.
Before each week, practice plans are developed for the coaches. The plans address what skills to teach that week and how to properly teach those skills.
This eliminates any chance of the players having a coach who doesn’t know much. All of the coaches teach the same skills and all of our coaches are doing a great job so far.
This not only helps the players, but also helps the coaches gain a foundation to grow as their children age out of the program and they move up in other age divisions.
