Accident East of St. Clair

St. Clair emergency responders work on extricating Tina Turner from her pickup after it crashed on Highway TT Tuesday night.

A 37-year-old St. Clair woman suffered serious injuries on Tuesday night when she was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Highway TT east of Moselle Road.

The Missouri Highway Patrol stated that Tina L. Turner was eastbound on Highway TT heading away from St. Clair in a 2001 Ford F150 when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The pickup traveled off the right side, overturned, and came to rest on the driver's side facing east.

Weather conditions were rainy and foggy at the time of the 9 p.m. incident.

Emergency responders from the St. Clair Fire Protection District had to cut away the roof of the pickup before they and St. Clair Ambulance District personnel were able to remove Turner from the truck. She was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington.

Turner was wearing a safety belt.

Debris and glass were scattered along the highway, and it was shut down until Turner was extricated and taken to the hospital. A passerby initially saw the truck off the road and called 911.

The pickup was totaled.
