Firefighters and investigators still were on the scene Tuesday afternoon after a fire severely damaged a home in rural Franklin County near Moselle during the morning.
It was confirmed there were no injuries in the two-alarm blaze in the 3300 block of Schuchart Park Road that first was reported at 9:32 a.m. Schuchart Park Road is located off of Old Cove Road north of the River Round Conservation Area east of Moselle.
Franklin County authorities confirmed that five individuals — four adults and one child — lived in the residence, and all of them were accounted for shortly after the blaze was reported.
No one was home when the fire started. The cause was unknown Tuesday afternoon.
Franklin County Arson Investigator Jim Schuhmacher was at the scene on Tuesday afternoon and was sifting through debris looking for clues. He told The Missourian it appears the fire started on the main level of the home.
