A 70-year-old St. Clair woman was killed on Tuesday morning when she was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Dry Branch Road west of St. Clair.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Janet C. Pilla was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Clair EMS personnel shortly after the 9:20 a.m. crash that occurred about 1.2 miles west of Highway WW.
The patrol stated that Pilla was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound on Dry Branch Road when she crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a westbound 2011 GMC Acadia driven by Kelsey A. Duncan, 17, of St. Clair.
Both women were wearing safety belts, but Duncan was not injured.
Damage to the Lumina was extensive while damage to the Acadia was moderate.
