The Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association (MRCA) named Pacific’s Iron Horse Rodeo the “Most Improved Rodeo Grounds” for its 2017 event.

“Approximately 70 rodeos take place in Missouri each year,” said Jake Krause, MRCA board member. “For Pacific to receive this award is a great testament to the facility and to Tim Kraus and Isaiah Garn, who worked hard for about two days to prepare the arena.”

Alderman Steve Myers accepted the award on behalf of the city and stated his personal desire and commitment to seeing that the rodeo facilities are improved each year.

Pacific’s rodeo is held each year in late September and is the last rodeo event in the state for participants to earn a position in the finals.

The cowboys and cowgirls who competed this fall absolutely loved the riding surface and look forward to returning next year, officials said.

Pacific is developing a great reputation as a welcoming rodeo town and draws cowboys and cowgirls from five states surrounding Missouri.

The MRCA is the biggest semi pro rodeo association in Missouri and one of the Top 5 in the world. The association is sanctioned by the United Rodeo Association and hosts rodeos all across the state of Missouri.
