Anyone who has never seen the U.S. Marine Corps Ball ceremony has an opportunity to share the experience with the Pacific High MCJROTC Saturday, Nov. 4.
The public is invited to a semiformal dinner party at Pacific High School to celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps’ 242nd birthday.
The Marine Corps celebrates the day each November to mark the date in 1775 when the Continental Marines was established.
PHS cadets will present the formal Marine Corps Ball ceremony, which is only a portion of the dinner party. The ceremony includes a color guard trooping the flag, presentation of the birthday cake and formal recognition of the guest of honor.
When the cake is cut, the first piece will be presented to the guest of honor.
Cadets chose interim Meramec Valley School District Superintendent Dr. Ed Hillhouse as 2017 Marine Corps Ball guest of honor.
The birthday celebration also will include a dinner provided by Filomena’s Italian Restaurant, a DJ and photo booth.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the event will adjourn at 11 p.m.
The cost is $30 per person. Checks should be made payable to PHSMCJROTC.
