The Pacific Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking applications for nonprofit organizations to share the production and proceeds of its annual community service benefit.
The sixth annual Pianos for a Purpose will be held at the Pacific Eagles, 707 West Congress, Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018.
The organizations selected to participate in this benefit event will receive half the net proceeds for the evening.
Organizers of the Pacific High School scoreboard that honored the late Randy George, were the partnering recipient the 2017 event, receiving $4,165.
Deadline to apply to share in the proceeds is Friday, Oct. 27.
To qualify to participate in the benefit, organizations must be of nonprofit status, have a Meramec Valley R-III School District-based charter.
Participating organizations are required to sell 50 percent of the tickets of the event and assist with production.
Two members of the organization must be present during the planning meetings starting in November 2017 and two members must be present during the day of the event to decorate and work that evening.
The organizations chosen will not be eligible for future Pianos for a Purpose proceeds for a minimum of five years after their recipient year.
Pianos for a Purpose has pumped more than $100,000 into the projects of local organizations, including the Tri-County Senior Center, Pacific Youth Association baseball field, American Legion kitchen, Pacific Station Plaza pavilion, City Park playground equipment and several programs for the MVR-III school district.
