Dr. Jonathan Mulford Sr. has been named the new Meramec Valley R-III School District superintendent effective for the 2018-19 school year.

Mulford, who is currently superintendent of the West Plains R-VII School District, will assume his new duties July 1, 2018.

This announcement follows a special board meeting Thursday night, which concludes a four-month superintendent search and selection process.

Mulford will replace interim Superintendent Dr. Ed Hillhouse, who stepped into the position in July 2015 after the sudden death of Superintendent Randy George. Hillhouse previously served as superintendent at Meramec Valley.

Mulford received his doctorate degree in educational leadership from Saint Louis University (SLU) in 2009, after previously earning his educational specialist degree from SLU as well. He also holds a master’s degree from William Woods University and undergraduate degree from Missouri State University.
