Masonic Fraternal Lodge 363, Highway O, Robertsville, continues its commitment to area students. The lodge recently presented $800 in coats, shoes and clothing to the Robertsville and Nike elementary schools.
The theater-style marquee at the edge of the parking lot announces the dates of monthly all-you-can-eat breakfasts and occasional chicken and dumpling dinners.
The public meals serve as fundraisers for the lodge and create an informal community center that cements the community together.
Located approximately one-half mile from Robertsville Elementary School, Lodge 363 members feel a special commitment to the students of their community.
Each year, members purchase school supplies to be distributed to students who show up for school without the needed items.
A large bin is kept at the lodge and members are urged to purchase pencils, pens, notebooks, rulers, scissors and other items throughout the year and drop them in the bin. Items are turned over to the school in August when classes begin.
The delivery of the coats and shoes continued a program that began in 2006.
