The city approved voluntary annexation Jan. 2 of a 55-acre parcel located on Old Gray Summit Road, adjacent to Ridge Meadows subdivision.
Elizabeth Amelotti, who owns the parcel, submitted the annexation application.
Water District No. 3 will provide water for the development, which is located within its boundaries. The city of Pacific will provide sewer service.
Michael Lawless, president of Lawless Homes, Valley Park, was present at the meeting. He said he’s under contract to purchase the property and wants to develop a 133-lot subdivision on the site.
The Pacific Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing Jan. 9 on a zone change request to establish a planned unit development (PUD) zoning district for the subdivision.
Lawless Homes developed Silver Lakes subdivision, a 147-lot development on Old Gray Summit Road. Silver Lakes was the city’s first 100-plus-home subdivision. It was started in 2000.
“We will have a pool and cabana,” Lawless said. “It will be a subdivision the city can be proud of.”
Lawless said the firm hopes to begin construction this spring.
City Administrator Steve Roth said it’s the city’s intention to annex Old Gray Summit Road to the west edge of the property line of the new subdivision.
