Breast cancer has been one of the auxiliary’s regular fundraising efforts.
In 2014, the auxiliary donated $20,451 to the Mercy Health Foundation/David C. Pratt Center. The group raised $10,451.00 and applied for a matching $10,000 grant from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Aerie.
“We work hard for breast cancer research and treatment because anyone can go to the Pratt Center and get treatment,” said Kim Walton, Auxiliary president. “We have many members that have passed away due to this disease and some are currently going through cancer treatment. Some, thankfully are survivors. It is very dear to our hearts and we appreciate every dollar we earn for breast cancer.”
