The Pacific Scenic Regional Library will host a performance of barbershop harmony singers, a traditional a cappella group singing in four-part harmony, this month.
Barb Schweissguth, Scenic Regional adult programmer, who has brought the community artists, authors, harmonica players and a Holocaust survivor, is organizing the program.
Senior Harmony Singers Barbershop Chorus, under the direction of Bob Cearnal, will perform Thursday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Tri-County Senior Center, 800 W. Union.
This ensemble entertains audiences all around the St. Louis and Metro East area and generally has 8 to 10 singers per performance.
“This year we performed for 31 different organizations — nursing homes, retirement centers and clubs, such as the Tri-County Senior Center,” said Bob Cearnal, director.
“Our best compliment is our repeat performances,” he said. “We entertain numerous groups year after year. We have a repertoire of over 85 songs, not counting Christmas selections, and we seldom repeat numbers when we return to the same venues.”

The performance is free, but reservations are required. Those who wish to attend should contact Barb Schweissguth at email email@example.com or call 636-257-2712.
