“An Evening of Upscale Country” at Haue Valley in Pacific will kick off the East Central College Foundation’s 2014-15 Patrons of the Arts series.

The event will be held Friday, June 20, featuring The Fox Creek Band.

The Patrons program benefits the art, theater and music departments at the community college and provides scholarships.

A welcome, social hour and silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and entertainment from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will end at 9 p.m.

“We invite everyone to come out and help support the fine and performing arts at East Central College,” said Shannon Grus, ECC Foundation executive director.

“The kickoff is an opportunity to enjoy great food and drink with fabulous entertainment in a gorgeous summer setting,” she said.

The silent auction will feature several “unique” items, Grus said, including an evening with the Friends of Aaron Jazz Group (Aaron Bounds is the director of bands at ECC); an evening of Christmas caroling with Dr. Tim Sexton, (ECC director of choirs) and a vocal group; as well as piano lessons, guitar lessons and pottery lessons with ECC faculty.

As part of the Patrons program, members receive tickets to the June 20 event and other Patrons performances, recognition in advertising, and early bird ticketing.

“Employers can use the tickets to award staff members, thank customers or package with other items, such as a dinner gift certificate, to donate for auctions and other special events,” Grus said.

The highest sponsorship level, the Encore Circle, is a planned gift society with lifetime benefits.
