Harkening to the days when clowns, flags, balloons and equestrians paraded through city streets leading up to the opening of a traveling circus, the Pacific High School 2013 Homecoming Parade Committee has chosen the theme “Under the Big Top” for this year’s parade.
The traditional parade kicks off Homecoming Week activities, which include theme days on campus, a mid-week bonfire, a football game and dance on Saturday, Sept. 28, where the king and queen will be crowned.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, in Downtown Pacific.
The parade will start at the Meramec Valley Middle School. It will proceed east on Union for seven blocks, turn right on First Street for one block, right on St. Louis Street for five blocks, right on Sixth Street for one block and left on Union for two blocks to return to the middle school.
The bonfire will take place on the practice field Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The football game Friday, Sept. 27, will pit the PHS Indians against Sullivan High School.
