The annual Andy Hubbard Memorial 5K trail run/walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Shaw Nature Reserve.

The 3.1-mile cross-country race benefits the Andy Hubbard Memorial Scholarship.

Registration will take place from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The race will begin at 9 a.m.

There will be no specified entry fee this year, but donations will be accepted to support the scholarship, which is awarded yearly to Pacific High School seniors.

In the past, the fee has been $18 in advance and $20 on the day of the event.

Since many return participants have multiple run T-shirts, shirts will be available only upon request and only as long as supplies last.

The first-place overall male and female winners will receive running shoes (gift receipt) and medals.

The first-place male and female winners will receive a medal in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

The event will continue to be timed with the support of Pacific High School athletes and the Meramec Valley R-III School District Pacific Indians Sports Club.

Preregistrations will still be accepted and racing bibs prepared in advance. A waiver form required by Shaw Nature Reserve also is required to participate in the event.

Donations should be mailed to Janet Hubbard, 3643 Owl Hoot Drive, Catawissa, MO 63015.
