The second annual Riverside Short Film Festival will be held March 31-April 2 at the Walt Theatre in Downtown New Haven.

The opening party, Cocktails and Classics, is set for March 31. Pinckney Bend will host Friends of Aaron band playing soundtracks to classic films from 6 to 10 p.m. The Walt will present “The History of Film” with classic short films and talkbacks by Leigh Kolb. ​Shops also will be open late.

On April 1, the Best of the Best will feature over 3,000 film submissions. Film set 1 will run from 1 to 3 p.m. and set 2 will run 5-7 p.m.

Concessions, drinks and adult beverages will be available for purchase.

The event will end Sunday, April 2. The Rats & People Motion Picture Orchestra will be featured. Local orchestra LIVE will score silent comedy films from the balcony of The Walt. Films include The High Sign, The Goat, and The Balloonatic.

Tickets are available online or at the door for $12. Seating is limited.
