A New Haven man was killed early Saturday, Aug. 13, in a head-on collision in Moniteau County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Graden D. Lovelace, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:15 a.m. crash on Highway 50, east of Business 50, at California, Mo., the patrol said.
Lovelace was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastbound on Route 50 when a westbound 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Joshua F. Blankenship, 27, Sedalia, crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into the Lovelace truck, according to the preliminary patrol report.
After impact, both vehicles caught fire, the patrol said.
Blankenship, who was not wearing a safety belt, sustained serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital, the patrol reported. Lovelace was wearing a safety belt.
