The New Haven Library recently released a list of upcoming events.
Programs are at the library unless otherwise noted.
Special programs are scheduled for kids, teens and adults.
Preschool story time for children up to kindergarten age is held each Tuesday morning, at 10 a.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. The August theme is farm animals.
The La Leche League of Franklin County consultant will visit Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m. to answer questions nursing moms have.
Read, Build and Play will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 20. Children ages 4 to 12 will create a set of Tangrams and create pictures with the shapes.
“Cleansing the Body” will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6-7 p.m. at the Old New Haven School, 801 Maupin Ave.
Lori Bourgeois, RN, will show participants how to become healthy from the inside out with essential oils, supplementation and diet.
Rod Wellington, adventurer and author, will visit the old New Haven School Friday, Aug. 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Wellington will speak about his river expeditions, screen two short films, and share the stories behind his latest book “River Angels.” Books will be available for purchase.
Book Club will meet Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m., at the branch. The discussion will be on “Circling the Sun” by Paula McLain. Everyone is welcome for the book discussion.
