Four incumbents retained their seats in unopposed New Haven municipal elections last Tuesday while five people battled for three seats on the school board.

Longtime Mayor George Panhorst won re-election garnering 205 of the total 223 ballots cast. There also were 18 write-in votes for the mayor’s spot.

Incumbent Ward 1 Alderman Jason Addison received 94 of the total 106 ballots cast in his race. An additional 12 write-in votes were cast in that race as well.

Alderman Mark Wehner will continue to serve the residents of Ward 2 after a successful re-election bid receiving 118 of the 124 total votes cast. Six write-in votes were also cast.

Municipal Judge Scott Fulford also ran unopposed and was top vote-getter garnering 226 of the total 228 votes cast in his re-election bid.

School Board

Five candidates were vying for three seats on the New Haven School Board.

Of 766 total ballots cast, Lauren Zobrist led the candidates with 214 votes. Margaret “Meg” Park came in second with 193 votes and Diane White rounded out the three victors with 144 votes.

Michael Oetterer finished fourth with 110 votes and Kyle Quick received 13 percent of the votes with 101.
