A Union woman has been charged following the alleged assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Carolyn M. Lammert, 35, is charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with two counts of felony abuse or neglect of a child. Prosecutors requested a $50,000 bond for her release.
The charges stem from a Monday, Oct. 16, incident in which Lammert allegedly threw the victim to the ground, struck and kicked her in the head, and stomped her in the head and neck with the heel of her shoe, according to the probable cause statement filed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.
Lammert then allegedly grabbed the girl by her hair and dragged her across the floor, lifted her up to a seated position and slammed the victim’s head to the floor.
Lammert allegedly jabbed the girl in the neck and head with a broom handle, authorities said.
The victim had multiple injuries from the assault. A 14-year-old witness took video of the assault that was reviewed by investigators with the sheriff’s office.
