A Washington man has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly breaking into a home, holding a man at gunpoint and forcing him from the residence.
Tyler L. Cregger, 33, was charged Monday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action. He is beingheld in the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, Cregger broke into a home in the 7500 block of Highway YY early Saturday, Aug. 26, while a male and a female victim were sleeping.
Authorities allege Cregger struck the male victim in the head with a metal object and pointed a handgun at the male and female victims during the confrontation. There was evidence of an assault found at the scene.
Cregger left with the male victim and deputies later learned both men were being treated at Mercy Hospitaln Washington. Washington police responded to the hospital where they located Cregger and the victim.
After the suspect received treatment he was arrested by deputies.
