Union police are investigating a stolen vehicle that was recovered hours after it was reported missing.

Officers received a report of a vehicle stolen from the Northside Quickstop at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 25. Police said the vehicle was unlocked an running when it was taken.

The victims provided a service number for OnStar and officers were able to locate the vehicle on Hickory Street in St. Clair a few hours after the incident was reported.

Officers identified a possible suspect. Several fingerprints and DNA samples were seized from the vehicle and are to be tested to identify any other possible suspects.

The investigation will continue.
