Washington police are investigating a burglary at First Christian Church in Washington.

Police were called to the church, located at 6890 Highway 100 near Highway KK, at 8:42 a.m. Monday for the report of a van, box trailer and several other items missing.

Police said a 15-passenger Ford van and box trailer, each marked with the church’s logo on the side were noticed missing earlier Monday morning. During the investigation, police discovered a zero-turn radius mower also was missing.

Electronic items from inside the church were also missing, police said. There was no sign of forced entry.

The van was spotted at around 5:30 a.m. Monday traveling east on Highway 100 near Highway A. Police said there was another report around 6:30 a.m. of the same van on Highway 30 in St. Clair.

Officers are currently investigating the burglary and following up on all leads.
