Two Pacific residents are accused of forcing a man into his truck at knife point last week and then stealing the vehicle.
Trisha L. Warnars, 32, and Steven L. Terry, 35, allegedly requested a ride from a 56-year-old man at a home off Robertsville Road Wednesday, May 23, at 10:30 p.m., according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, who was visiting a friend, said he had been drinking and did not want to give the couple a ride. The victim told deputies he was “jumped” by Warnars and Terry.
Authorities allege Terry assaulted the man and he was forced to the ground. When he tried to get on his feet, Warnars displayed a knife and ordered him back into his truck.
The victim said he was driven in his truck to the Catawissa Inn bar, located on Jefferson Street, Catawissa, where he jumped out of the vehicle and called for help.
He said the suspects then left the area in his truck. The victim’s leg was injured during the altercation, according to the sheriff’s department.
The investigation led deputies to a home on T-Box Drive in St. Clair, where the stolen truck was hidden in an attached garage, authorities said.
Initially Warnars and Terry, who were inside the home, refused to cooperate with deputies but shortly later opened the garage door where the stolen truck was located.
The suspects each were charged with felony stealing a motor vehicle. They are being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
A 23-year-old Union area man also was arrested at the scene for outstanding warrants. The stolen truck and other property was recovered from the T-Box Drive home.
Other charges are under review, according to the sheriff’s department.
