A Robertsville area man is charged in the alleged stabbing of a man in the neck with a steak knife.
Brett J. Devereux, 25, is charged in a felony complaint in the Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He is being held in the Franklin County jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Devereux and the victim had gotten into an argument Monday. Nov. 13, at a home in the Lake Arrowhead neighborhood.
Devereux allegedly stabbed the victim in the right side of the neck with the 6-inch steak knife.
The victim was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis where a vein from his neck was repaired with a vein from his leg, authorities said.
Devereux admitted that he carries the knife at all times, according to the sheriff’s office.
