A Pacific woman has been charged in connection to a heroin overdose Saturday.
Katie M. Wiessenbach, 31, was charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court Monday, Oct. 16, with felony delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
According to the probable statement filed by the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Unit, detectives responded to a home in the 300 block Lake View Drive Catawissa Saturday, Oct. 14, for the overdose of a 25-year-old man. The victim’s mother told authorities she found him unresponsive on a bathroom floor of the home.
Deputies seized a used syringe and a blue and clear capsule located near the man. Authorities also found the victim’s phone on the bathroom floor.
The man’s mother told police she suspected her son obtained drugs from Wiessenbach, according to the probable cause statement.
During the investigation, a detective responded to Mercy Hospital Washington where the victim was transported. The man had no brain activity, authorities said.
Investigators went to a home in the 500 block of West Union Street, Pacific, where Wiessenbach was staying. Detectives went into the suspect’s room and informed her of the overdose, according to the statement.
Authorities allege she refused to cooperate with the investigation.
After obtaining a search warrant, detectives seized heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the bedroom.
Authorities said Wiessenbach had previously been investigated for possession of heroin.
