A Pacific man was charged with felony second-degree burglary for allegedly stealing money from Mercy South building’s Patients First Center in 2016.
Michael T. Rucker, 21, was charged Tuesday, May 15, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Prosecutors requested a $7,500 bond.
Washington Police Detective Sgt. Steve Sitzes said employees in the Mercy South building had reported several instances of money missing from the Diabetes and Nutrition Department’s cash drawer.
After reviewing the surveillance video on Oct. 18, 2016, Rucker was seen walking down the hallway where the department’s front counter is, jumping on top of and walking across the counter and jumping the glass separator, according to Washington police.
