A couple living at a home on East Third Street in Washington had been trafficking in illegal drugs for some time, narcotics investigators allege.
Officers with the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit served a search warrant Thursday morning at the home in the 1500 block of East Third and seized a variety of drugs, Detective Sgt. Jason Grellner, head of the task force, told The Missourian.
One person, a 33-year-old white female, was taken into custody. She was held overnight and was expected to be released Friday pending analysis of evidence and a decision on issuing felony drug charges.
Officers are searching for a 34-year-old white male suspect who lived at the home, Grellner said.
Names of the suspects were not released because they have not been charged in the investigation.
Inside the home, officers seized approximately 7 1/2 pounds of high-grade marijuana, believed to have been brought here from the West Coast, Grellner said, along with about an ounce of hallucinogenic mushrooms and small amounts of crystal methamphetamine.
Also seized was paraphernalia to use and distribute meth, he noted, $1,700 in cash and “honey oil,” a concentrated marijuana extract, and some E-cigarettes which are used to smoke the oil.
