A Gray Summit man who allegedly fled on foot twice from a Franklin County deputy was charged.

A Franklin County felony complaint was issued Monday, Jan. 8, charging Christopher R. Green Jr. with felony tampering with a motor vehicle and two misdemeanors of resisting arrest.

According to the probable cause statement filed in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 7:14 p.m. a deputy stopped a 1998 maroon Chevy pickup parked on Hill Drive that matched the description of a vehicle stolen in the county.

There were two men in the truck, including Green who fled on foot toward Berry Drive. The other man was detained by the deputy, authorities said.

Green was not located in a search of the area.

The next morning the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in the same area. During the stop, Green jumped out of the passenger side of the car and again fled on foot. The female driver of the car was told by Green that he was hiding from authorities and needed a ride. Green was not located at that time, according to the probable cause statement.
