A Cuba man accused of ramming a truck into a woman’s vehicle and making death threats to her was charged Monday.
Gerald J. Bylo, 59, was charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with first-degree domestic assault. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
According to the probable cause statement filed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Bylo was ramming the vehicle of a woman at a residence in the 100 block of Bacon Ridge Road near Sullivan Sunday, Jan. 7. Bylo was driving a 2003 Chevy Silverado.
Authorities said the victim was in her driveway when Bylo struck the front of the vehicle. There were several “burn out” marks in the grass and gravel on the driveway.
The victim stated she was leaving the home after getting a voice mail from Bylo. The suspect then showed up and immediately struck her vehicle, the probable cause statement reads. Bylo left the area before deputies arrived on the scene.
Deputies were told that Bylo had a loaded rifle in his truck and had made threats to the victim.
Bylo was arrested by Crawford County deputies.
