A Villa Ridge man accused of assaulting a woman, and then damaging equipment in a patrol car, was charged Monday.

Dakota G. Durbin, 24, was in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with second-degree domestic assault.

The charges stem from a Friday, June 1, incident in the 100 block of Sleepy Court, Villa Ridge, where Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of an assault. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.

The victim said she had been assaulted by Durbin. She had marks and injuries which were consistent with her statement, authorities said.

Durbin fled from the residence before deputies arrived. He was arrested several hours later by deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.

Durbin allegedly damaged the inside of the patrol vehicle, including computer and camera equipment while he was being transported to the Franklin County Jail.

Property damage charges also are being sought, authorities said.
