A 50-year-old Villa Ridge man was arrested with a stolen firearm recovered at the scene of a drug overdose.
Deputies arrested the man in the 100 block of Arborview Drive Saturday, Nov. 18, where Meramec Ambulance and Boles Fire crews responded to a drug overdose, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
A 22-year-old woman was lying unconscious on the floor of a detached shed following a suspected drug overdose when deputies arrived on the scene. She regained consciousness after Narcan was administered. She was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for further treatment.
During the investigation deputies located a firearm stolen in Ripley County about two years ago. The firearm was seized and the Villa Ridge man who claimed to be the owner was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold for unlawful possession of a firearm.
A warrant application was submitted to the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on the suspect.
