A Gray Summit area man has been charged in an alleged strong arm robbery for stealing $850 cash from three teens who attempted to purchase drugs from him.
A Franklin County felony complaint was issued Thursday, Jan. 25, charging Travis R. Green, 19, with second-degree robbery and misdemeanor assault. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $40,000 cash-only bond.
According to the probable cause statement filed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, the male victims, two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old, went to a home in the 200 block of Hill Drive to purchase narcotics.
Authorities allege Green got into a vehicle driven by one of the suspects, took the car keys from the ignition and threatened to assault the teens if they did not give him their money.
The victims allege Green took $850 from them before he returned the car keys. The victims fled the area in the vehicle and called 911.
Deputies arrested Green at the Hill Drive home and cash taken from the victims was recovered there.
In December 2016, Green was placed on five years’ probation for crimes that occurred in 2015.
He was charged in November 2015 with first-degree burglary two counts of domestic assault. In August 2015 he was charged with second-degree burglary.
Green also had been charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. The theft occurred in Washington in December 2015.
The suspect also had several drug possession charges since 2015.
