A former soccer coach and school board president at Crosspoint Christian School has been charged with alleged sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old female student.
Larry J. Zeitzmann, 56, Washington, was charged last month in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with sexual misconduct and third-degree assault, both misdemeanors, for the alleged molestation of a girl.
Franklin County Prosecutor Bob Parks said the investigation still is underway and any victims are urged to contact local authorities. Zeitzmann could be charged with additional crimes.
“We believe that there are more victims,” Parks said.
According to the probable cause statement filed in Parks’ office by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, on Nov. 22, 2016, the 14-year-old victim contacted authorities stating Zeitzmann allegedly molested her and possibly others.
Zeitzmann allegedly made inappropriate comments toward the student, stated he would leave his wife to marry her and that he “loved her very much,” according to the statement.
The suspect also made illegal and unwanted physical contact with the girl, including grabbing her on the behind while hugging her and kissing her cheek, authorities allege.
Zeitzmann also attempted to kiss the victim on the lips, the statement reads.
The alleged crimes occurred during sporting events at the Crosspoint Christian School campus and in a Union park.
Zeitzmann had served as the Glendale fire chief for 16 years. He retired from the position in 2015.
He is being represented by Washington attorney Craig Hellmann.
