Two convicted felons have been charged with illegal possession of a firearm after a traffic stop in Gerald where police seized two guns and drugs.
James D. Graham, 45, St. Clair, and Jeremy M. Gillette, 24, were charged Oct. 3 in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with unlawful possession of an illegal weapon. Gillette also has been charged with felony drug possession.
According to the probable cause statement filed in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office, the men were passengers in a car stopped by Gerald Police Oct. 1. when Gillette fled on foot. He was arrested following a brief chase.
Police seized a firearm hidden under the front seat of the car where Gillette had been sitting, as well as a firearm in the rear near Graham.
Gillette was in possession of suspected meth and scales.
The female driver was not arrested during the incident.
Both men had prior felony drug possession convictions. Prosecutors requested a $25,000 cash-only bond for each suspect.
