A woman who has been charged in the death of a Wildwood man in a traffic accident in Arkansas last month is on probation in a Franklin County DWI-related crash three years ago.
Prosecuting Attorney Bob Parks said the woman, Alexandra A. Adams, 23, was living in a Washington apartment March 7, 2010, when she wrecked a car on Pottery Road at Holtgrewe Road. Three other people were in the car at the time.
Adams later pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree assault and was given three five-year suspended sentences, given 120 days’ shock time in the Missouri Department of Corrections and ordered to undergo an alcohol/drug treatment program.
After her release, she was placed on five years’ supervised probation.
On Feb. 28, Adams was driving an SUV on Interstate 540 in a construction zone when she lost control and crashed. Arkansas authorities later said she had a blood alcohol content of 0.24 percent — three times the legal limit.
David P. Moessner, 51, of Wildwood, was struck by another vehicle and killed when he went to assist Adams and a passenger in her car.
Arkansas authorities charged Adams with negligent homicide in connection with the crash as well as driving while intoxicated, driving on a revoked license and careless prohibited driving. Her bond was set at $75,000.
Parks said a Franklin County warrant was issued in the previous case against Adams for violating her probation.
He said if she’s released on bond from Arkansas she will be held here on the capias warrant.
