A one-car crash in western Franklin County Tuesday night resulted in a woman being seriously injured.

Michele D. Bell, 52, of Berger, was driving a 2005 Ford Escape northbound on Highway C when she lost control and the car ran off the right side of the road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Bell overcorrected, the patrol said, causing the car to cross back over the highway and off the left side where it struck a tree.

Bell, who was wearing a safety belt, was transported by New Haven Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment of apparent serious injuries, according to the preliminary patrol report.

The 11:40 p.m. crash happened five-tenths of a mile north of Boeuf Road, the patrol reported.
