Police try to ID source of bag used in robbery

Police said two men who robbed the Fas-Trip BP gas station Tuesday night dropped this bag on the parking lot after leaving the store. They are trying to trace it to another store or business the suspects may have visited before the holdup. Anyone who knows which business uses this type of printed bag is asked to call Detective Sgt. Steve Sitzes at 636-390-1973.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to arrest and conviction of suspects who robbed the Fas-Trip BP gas station at Highway 47 and Fifth Street Tuesday night, and/or the Fischer Phillips 66 station at Fifth and Elm streets Saturday night.

Anyone with information about either holdup or the suspects should contact Detective Sgt. Steve Sitzes with the Washington police department at 636-390-1073.

A lone robber wielding a large kitchen knife and wearing a bandana to hide his face robbed a clerk at the Fischer station Saturday night and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two suspects, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, entered the Fas-Trip station shortly before midnight Tuesday. Both wore bandanas covering their faces and ball caps. One was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and displayed a long knife.

After taking cash from the clerk, they were last seen crossing Fifth Street toward the Mercy Hospital parking lot.
