For more than a decade, a Franklin County couple quietly grew large amounts of marijuana in their St. Clair area home and never attracted the attention of police.

That operation ended Wednesday afternoon when investigators with the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit paid them a visit and seized an estimated $50,000 worth of growing and processed marijuana.

The man, 60, and his wife, 58, were booked and released, pending lab analysis of the marijuana.

They admitted that they had been growing marijuana in their home since 2003.
