A Pacific police officer accused of taking drugs that were evidence in criminal cases is facing felony charges.

Arthur F. Tullock, 55, Pacific, was charged earlier this month in a two-count indictment issued by the Franklin County grand jury.

The indictment charges Tullock with two counts of theft/stealing of any controlled substance.

A $5,000 bond was set in the case.

The indictment alleges that Tullock “appropriated” oxycodone and hydrocodone that were in the charge of the Pacific police department.

The alleged thefts occurred on or about Dec. 12, 2013, according to the indictment.

The case was investigated by officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Prosecuting Attorney Bob Parks said after the patrol completed its investigation he presented the case to the grand jury which issued the indictment earlier this month.

The indictment was suppressed until it could be served on the defendant.
