A Wentzville man charged with robbing the First Bank at Dutzow in September has been indicted by a federal grand jury in that crime and two other bank robberies this year.

Warren J. Gladders, 64, was indicted Wednesday for the Sept. 20 armed holdup at the Dutzow bank along with the robbery of a Reliance Bank branch in Creve Coeur in early June and a First National Bank branch in St. Charles County in early August, the Associated Press reported.

State charges against Gladders are pending in Warren County Circuit Court where he recently was arraigned.

In addition to first-degree robbery, Warren County authorities also charged Gladders with felony assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession of an illegal firearm and two counts of armed criminal action.

Gladders, an attorney and business owner, is accused during the Dutzow robbery of shooting at a state trooper, who only survived thanks to his bulletproof vest.

He was being held in the Warren County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
