A Washington man was seriously injured Thursday, Feb. 9, when the car he was driving struck the rear of a towed unit attached to a tractor-trailer on Highway 100.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Tyler A. Felps, 23, was driving a 1999 Buick LeSabre westbound on Highway 100 east of Highway V at 9:15 p.m. when it struck the rear of a 2003 Freightliner driven westbound by Joe L. Yarber, 72, Knoxville, Tenn.
The Yarber vehicle slowed to make a right turn when the towed unit was struck in the rear driver’s side by the front of the Felps car.
Felps was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by Meramec ambulance. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
