A man who fled from deputies Thursday following a raid at a Sullivan area home, and was held at gunpoint by a neighbor before fleeing again, was charged Friday.

Dustin T. Bailey, 31, Sullivan, was charged Friday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, both felonies.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton said Bailey was in possession of illegal drugs when he arrived at a Lollar Branch Road home Thursday afternoon while deputies were arresting a man on warrant for a probation violation.

Bailey fled on foot from deputies, was held at gunpoint by a neighboring homeowner and was shot at when he again ran from officers. He was arrested Friday morning after hiding in a truck during the night.

Bailey is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

Earlier Story:

Two men have been arrested in connection with an incident at a Sullivan area home Thursday, Feb. 9, where drug paraphernalia and guns were seized.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton said the S.W.A.T. team, along with the Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant in the 3300 block of Lollar Branch Road at 2 p.m.

Christopher Grant, 34, Sullivan, was arrested on a felony probation violation warrant. He is being held without bond.

During a search of the home, authorities seized two firearms and drug paraphernalia.

As deputies were searching the home, a 31-year-old Sullivan man approached the residence. The man fled on foot when deputies found that he was carrying illegal drugs.

A short time later, a resident in the area saw the man, held him at gunpoint and notified authorities.

When deputies arrived, he fled again and the resident fired two rounds at the suspect. The man was not struck in the shooting, Pelton said.

Authorities searched for the suspect until after dark, with the assistance of a Missouri State Highway Patrol plane, but were unable to locate the man.

On Friday at 7 a.m., an area resident found the suspect sleeping in his truck.

According to Pelton, the suspect left the truck and then got a ride in a different vehicle, which was traveling toward St. Clair. Authorities stopped the vehicle and the suspect was taken into custody.

Charges will be sought against the Sullivan man for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
