Two Washington residents were seriously injured Sunday night when the driver of vehicle failed to stop at a red light at Highways 100 and 47 and struck their vehicle.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Ian D. Egli, 25, Washington, was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata northbound on Highway 47 shortly after 8 p.m., when the car drove through the red light and struck the side of a 2015 Ford Edge driven westbound on Highway 100 by Jennifer L. Foan, 47, Washington.
The rear of the Foan vehicle struck a 2008 Nissan Sentra driven by Kiberly A. Calvert, 51, Washington; and a 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Jonathan T. Smith, 22, St. Louis, the patrol said.
Foan and passenger Fred J. Foan, 52, Washington, were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington by Washington Ambulance. They were wearing seat belts, according to the patrol.
Washington police, the Franklin County Sheriff's office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol all were at the scene.
