A Sullivan man is in custody on felony charges for allegedly taking firearms and a crossbow from a residence.
Nicholas P. Mcklendin, 34, was charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with second-degree burglary and stealing. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a home in the 500 block of Delta Lane near Sullivan at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 for the report of a burglary.
The victim told deputies he returned home from work and his residence had been broken into through a door which had been pried open.
There was a .380 caliber Bersa Firestorm, a Barnett crossbow, a black powder rifle as well as a PlayStation 4 and several other items that were missing.
Deputies canvassed the area and located items on the ground ultimately leading them to Mcklendin’s home located in the 3200 block of Lollar Branch Road.
Mcklendin was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants.
Deputies recovered the a handgun matching the description of the stolen firearm on Mcklendin, according to Sheriff Steve Pelton.
Authorities located additional stolen items located in his residence.
