A strong line of severe thunderstorms hit Franklin County shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, bringing damaging winds, vivid lightning and heavy rain to parts of the county.

The National Weather Service out of St. Louis issued a tornado warning for parts of the county from about 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. after a tornado was spotted in Sullivan. There were other reports of a tornado north of Union. It was not known if the tornadoes were confirmed.
