There are new leaders at St. Gertrude Parish and School in Krakow.
Father Mathew Cheruparambil is serving as parochial administrator. The Archbishop appointed him in June.
He was an associate pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Manchester for two years before coming to St. Gertrude.
Father Cheruparambil also is a parochial administrator at Saint Ann Church-Clover Bottom, Washington.
He said that as a “newbie” to St. Gertrude he’s excited about everything and excited to be here.
“I’m happy to be here because it’s a beautiful place to be,” he said. “It looks like my home place.”
Father Cheruparambil grew up on a farm in India. He said the farms in the area remind him of that.
St. Gertrude also hired a new principal, Dwight Elmore, for the 2018-19 school year.
Elmore was a teacher for 13 years before becoming a principal at St. Joseph School in Wentzville.
Prior to coming to St. Gertrude, he served as principal at Holy Child School in Arnold.
